20 Aug 2020 Auction Thank You
Thank you for supporting the Auction for Lincoln Park!
The 2020 Auction for Lincoln Park was a huge success! Thanks to the generosity of our donors, together we raised more than $85,000 in support of our stewardship and programming work throughout the Park, and toward our restoration of North Pond. The Auction’s success in what has been a tumultuous year is a testament to our supporters’ commitment to the Park. Now more than ever parks and open space are vital respites during uncertain times. Likewise, the importance of public/private partnerships—like the Lincoln Park Conservancy’s partnership with the Chicago Park District—has never been more apparent. In times of limited budgets and increased access and use, the Conservancy’s role as the nonprofit champion for Lincoln Park is vital. We couldn’t do it without you. Our most important asset in helping the Park is you! We’d like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated! If you missed the Auction but would still like to donate to our work you can at: https://lpcgala2020.givesmart.com.
A portion of funds raised through the Auction directly benefits our current restoration efforts of North Pond. Due to the generosity of our donors and the larger community, our Campaign for North Pond is off to an amazing start. Funds from the Auction helped us complete final pond studies this summer in preparation for the restoration next year. Additionally, earlier this summer we announced the receipt of a $3 million gift from an anonymous donor–the largest single gift the Conservancy has ever received–toward the project. This leadership gift, coupled with a $1 million pledge and generous funding from other donors, means we have raised more than 60% of the project budget of $7 million and are on track to dredge the Pond next year. We are excited to dig into the restoration, while continuing our stewardship and programming endeavors throughout Lincoln Park. It is worth saying it again: our biggest asset in this work is you. Thank you for making our mission of preserving, protecting, and enhancing Lincoln Park for all possible!
Sincerely,
The Board, volunteers, and staff of the Lincoln Park Conservancy
