In this unusual year, your support of the Conservancy’s work has never been more critical. Despite unprecedented circumstances, we remain committed to our mission to preserve, protect and enhance Lincoln Park and we could not be more proud of our impact. Did you know that in 2019-2020 our docents interacted with more than 50,000 park visitors? As in-person programming has diminished during COVID, we’ve increased our virtual tours and online educational offerings to bring the Park to people at home. Our 2019-2020 gardening volunteers helped staff to sow over 4-million seeds and to maintain the natural areas around North Pond, the Lily Pool and the Playscape. Your donation during our annual appeal is critical to ensuring that our work in the Park goes forward, including our stewardship and programming.
The Conservancy also continues to serve as an important funding source for capital Park improvements. The Sunshine Playscape, Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool, Lincoln Monument and Gardens, and Eli Bates Fountain are just a few examples of our major improvements to Lincoln Park. We also participated in the restorations of several historic monuments, including William Shakespeare, Fountain Girl, and Alexander Hamilton. Our current capital Park project is the $7-million restoration of North Pond. We’re restoring this natural treasure to ensure its future as a respite from urban life for both animals and humans. We can’t do it without you, though! This project is 100% community funded. With your vital donation during our annual appeal, we can make this exciting project a reality for Lincoln Park.
