2020 Gala for Lincoln Park – Postponed

2020 Gala for Lincoln Park – Postponed

Dear Friends of Lincoln Park,

For the health and safety of you, our supporters, the Lincoln Park Conservancy will postpone our Wonders of the Park Gala, originally scheduled for April 24th, 2020. We will miss seeing you next month, but already look forward to celebrating with you at a later date. Once we know more about the event and date, we will let you know.

While the Gala has been postponed, our important work across Lincoln Park hasn’t. Now more than ever, natural treasures and open space are of critical importance, providing appropriate social distancing while getting outside in nature. The Gala is our biggest fundraiser of the year and the income it generates is critical to the Conservancy’s mission in the Park. Support from the Gala funds our programming, Park initiatives, stewardship days, major construction projects, and our staff, who make this work possible. A third of the Conservancy’s operating budget comes from Gala proceeds. This support is also critical to beginning our three-year restoration of North Pond scheduled to begin this summer.

In the days ahead we will launch a series of ways that you can engage with the Park, at a time when we all need its peace and wonder more than ever. The Park provides so many opportunities to help balance the anxiety of uncertain times. The work of the Conservancy is critical in ensuring that Lincoln Park remains a vital asset to you, your families, and to the millions who are engaged and energized by the Park’s countless wonders; now and for generations to come.

And so, we hope to inspire your support like never before as we repurpose our Gala into an entire season of celebrating the beauty, wonder, and calming nature of the Park. Stay tuned for more details on how you can still participate in our live and silent auctions. To support us immediately you can do so here.

As a supporter of the Conservancy, we want to say thank you for all that you do to help us to preserve, protect, and enhance Lincoln Park. You are the greatest asset we have to better the Park. We wish you and your loved ones health and peace during this uncertain time and hope that the Park’s many wonders provide some of that peace to you and yours.

If you have specific questions or would like to discuss the Gala’s cancellation or other matters in person, please contact the Conservancy’s Executive Director, Doug Widener at: (773) 883-7275 x. 206 or dwidener@lpc-2020.logical-media-group.com.

Sincerely,

The Board of Directors, Lincoln Park Conservancy
